Biographical / Historical

Marceline Newton Peet was born in Elizabeth City, North Carolina on March 2, 1940. She worked as a professional chef at the Marshalls Hotel, the Trixx Night Club, and the Ocean Officers Club. Her work at the Marshalls inspired her to write The New Life Cookbook, consisting of recipes based on nurtritional advice in the Edgar Cayce readings. Peet was an active member of the Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association of Norfolk, Virginia. She died in Norfolk on April 2, 2018 at the age of 78.
