Biographical / Historical
Ruth deCormis LeNoir was born on March 18, 1895 to Charles Evans Burroughs and Nancy Hughes in Norfolk, Virginia. She married Walter G. LeNoir (1895-1976) on June 30, 1923 and had one daughter, Jeanne Gordon LeNoir (1924-2010), before she and her husband separated in 1939.
Ruth LeNoir met Edgar Cayce in 1931 and received 12 readings from him. She often visited the Cayce home and was one of the original members of Norfolk Study Group No. 1, the group responsible for compiling the material for A Search for God Books I and II. She was also one of the original members of the Glad Helpers Prayer Group, and servied as its secretary from 1950 until her death. She wrote a book, entitled When the Last Trumpet is Sounded (1978), about the life of Jesus according to the Cayce material. LeNoir died in Norfolk on March 11, 1981.
